Just below here is what Technorati said about themselves as at May 24, 2007.
Welcome to Technorati
Currently tracking 82.7 million blogs
Technorati is the recognized authority on what’s happening on the World Live Web, right now. The Live Web is the dynamic and always-updating portion of the Web. We search, surface, and organize blogs and the other forms of independent, user-generated content (photos, videos, voting, etc.) increasingly referred to as “citizen media.”
But it all started with blogs. A blog, or weblog, is a regularly updated journal published on the web. Some blogs are intended for a small audience; others vie for readership with national newspapers. Blogs are influential, personal, or both, and they reflect as many topics and opinions as there are people writing them.
Blogs are powerful because they allow millions of people to easily publish and share their ideas, and millions more to read and respond. They engage the writer and reader in an open conversation, and are shifting the Internet paradigm as we know it.
On the World Live Web, bloggers frequently link to and comment on other blogs, creating the type of immediate connection one would have in a conversation. Technorati tracks these links, and thus the relative relevance of blogs, photos, videos etc. We rapidly index tens of thousands of updates every hour, and so we monitor these live communities and the conversations they foster.
The World Live Web is incredibly active, and according to Technorati data, there are over 175,000 new blogs (that’s just blogs) every day. Bloggers update their blogs regularly to the tune of over 1.6 million posts per day, or over 18 updates a second.

What are the traffic push and pull for our blogs? (we shall leave keywords, PPC and SEO out of this chapter for now).
Generally, the four (4) key sources of traffic are -
1. Create direct/organic traffic
2. Buy search engine traffic
3. Lean on networking traffic
4. Indirect Referral traffic
1. Create direct / organic traffic. “Build great contents for your blog and traffic will flow-in”. Content is the ticket to successful traffic pull. Build a blog niched to your chosen audience and traffic will be attracted to pulled in.
Use significant keywords loved by your audience and the search engines will crawl and send traffic to you. Simple write fabulous contents and Google will give you a helping hand.
2. Buy search engine traffic. The words associated with this sort of traffic source include Google Adwords , Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Yahoo Dire ctory Listing, advertising, etc.
My personal experience with Google Adwords (sponsored links) on my website selling teddy bears was an amazement to me. I can never imagine traffic coming to my website in the first couple of hours from all over the world!! A must try and certain, such advertising can deliver. And one can then understand why internet marketing really does have a level playing field with the world market, literally, at your feet.
3. Lean on network traffic. Networking is POWER!!. Get your strategic partner to support and write testimonials about your blog. This brings credibility to your blog.
4. Indirect / Referral Traffic. Here you build links where other blogs are linked back to your blog and promoting yours. Digg , SpicyPage , Mybloglog , del.icio.us , Technorati , FuelMyBlog , Blipoo , Myspace , Squidoo, Bumpzee are some of the sites worth consideration.
These traffic source is instant. Unlike SEO that needs weeks to pull visitors to your blog, Web 2.0 traffic is almost instantaneous. Referral traffic is absolutely free!! What else can one asks for?
These 4 traffic generators have differing monetization strategies as a result of the tactics employed. These strategies will be shared in later chapters as we progress. Do come back and visit.
(Tip: Do you know that visitors coming from the search engines are the ones that would most likely click your Google Adsense ads? Yes. And Web 2.0 traffic are the least likely to click the ads.)

How about that?
Feel up to the challenge??
If so, write to me NOW… this challenge expires as soon as the first person is able to provide to me with the correct list of cities and countries of these buildings.
